CHANEL COUTURE O’CLOCK
WORDS FROM THE STUDIO
The spirit of the CHANEL Couture Workshops is reflected in four collections: J12, PREMIERE, BOY-FRIEND and CODE COCO, with 7 new, different interpretations of highly diverse aesthetics.
CAPSULE COLLECTION COUTURE O'CLOCK
In 1987, CHANEL presented its very first watch, called La Première, paving the way for the identity of watchmaking. An authentic timepiece, made in Switzerland. With it, the watch becomes for the first time a real jewel and exceeds its functionality. It imposes its creative vision of a style watchmaking where, as in fashion, know-how of excellence are put at the service of the creations, never the opposite. Today, the craftsmen of the Studios de Création in Paris and the master watchmakers of the CHANEL Manufacture in Switzerland still share the same requirement.
This year, the CHANEL Watchmaking Creation Studio imagines its new COUTURE O'CLOCK Capsule Collection and creates a dialogue between two worlds. Inspired by the tools of the virtuoso seamstresses of rue Cambon, in Paris, CHANEL dresses the iconic watches of the House with thimble patterns, spools of thread or pins.
LIMITED EDITION - CHANEL UNDER ALL ITS SEAMS
Directly inspired by the sewing workshops of Gabrielle Chanel, the capsule collection of COUTURE O'CLOCK watches pays tribute to the seamstresses of rue Cambon and their sewing tools. Faithful to the spirit of the House, CHANEL revisits once again its clock making icons in a free, daring and singular way. Exclusive creations available in limited edition.
Watchmaking, jewellery and craftsmanship combine to transform all the tools necessary for sewing into exceptional pieces: J12, PREMIÈRE, BOY FRIEND and CODE COCO are reinterpreted. The iconic CHANEL tweed jacket is used to enhance the dial of the BOY FRIEND COUTURE watch. To indicate the time, the J12 COUTURE watch hands are replaced by the sewing needle and Mademoiselle’s scissors. And just as the double-turn bracelet of the PREMIERE RUBAN COUTURE watch is printed with a tape measure pattern, the bracelet that adorns the CODE COCO COUTURE is printed with thimbles patterns, spool of thread and scissors.
As always in the CHANEL watchmaking world, the first idea and technique are at the service of creation. The craftsmen of La Chaux-de-Fonds in Switzerland have risen to the many challenges related to the manufacture of these watches, rivaling ingenuity to give life to this collection imagined by the Studio de Création Horlogerie. From the excellence of materials to the sophistication of details, everything has been designed to create an exceptional timepiece: COUTURE O'CLOCK. Available in limited edition.
