FRANCK MULLER , Master of Complications
FRANCK MULLER at MAIER Horloger
THEIR HISTORY
Franck Muller watches are among the finest and most complicated in the world. The manufacture was founded in Geneva by Franck Muller and Vartan Sirmakes with the aim of creating exclusive timepieces characterized by complicated movements and original designs. Thanks to its strong in-house capabilities in many areas of haute horlogerie, this young company quickly became one of Switzerland's leading watch brands. Today, we believe we have succeeded in combining audacity and creativity with exceptional haute horlogerie expertise.
World premieres
Franck Muller demonstrated an exceptional talent for watchmaking creativity at a young age. Since 1986, he has introduced new high-complication watches, handcrafted and limiting production to three or four pieces per year.
In 1992, he founded the brand Franck Muller Genève, creating innovative watches like the Crazy Hours in 2003, which displays the hours in random order while maintaining perfect precision. In 2004, he revolutionized watchmaking with the first tri-axial tourbillon, the Revolution 3.
His masterpiece, the 2007 Aeternitas Mega, with its 36 complications and 1,483 components, is the most complicated watch in the world. In 2011, he introduced the Giga Tourbillon, the largest tourbillon ever integrated into a wristwatch.
These innovations earned Franck Muller the first prize of the Grand Prix de l'Horlogerie de Genève in 2002, confirming his status as master of watchmaking complications.
Unique design
Since the 1980s, Franck Muller has become synonymous with exquisite finishes and unique designs in fine watchmaking. His brand, known for its avant-garde watches, has established exceptional timepieces often copied.
The Curvex Curved case, introduced in 1992, is an example of bold innovation. Unlike traditional round or rectangular watches, this curved 3D case presented significant technical challenges, but quickly allowed the brand to distinguish itself by its unique silhouette.
Franck Muller watches also stand out for their dials with distinctive numbers and vibrant colors, such as royal blue. These dials, curved to fit the shape of the case, are complex to produce and reflect exceptional expertise.
With its elegant cases, superb dials and complex movements, Franck Muller has created timepieces with a sober, refined design and timeless elegance, thus affirming its unique identity and watchmaking expertise.
