In 1904, Louis Cartier fulfilled the wish of the famous Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos Dumont: to be able to tell the time in flight. The birth of one of the very first wristwatches sealed the friendship between these two pioneers. The rounded angles of the dial, the harmonious curve of the lugs and the visible screws made it an emblematic watch that would inspire countless reinterpretations.
