In the early 80s, CASIO R&D engineer Kikuo IBE dropped the watch his father had given him. It broke, and he set about creating an indestructible, durable and useful watch with an innovative and unique design. After two years of research and over 200 prototypes, the first G-SHOCK was born in Tokyo in 1983. Over and above the flawless utility of its products, the brand has weathered the last four decades with contemporary designs and meticulous collaborations, enabling it to establish itself firmly as a must-have watch brand.
